Important Dates for the Fall 2008 Season
The following meetings and class are
schedule related to the Fall 2008 season:
- PCA Meetings (Positive Coaching Alliance) -
Required for all coaches/strongly encouraged
for all parents
- Coaches Meetings (Info about the season) -
Required for all coaches
- Player Draft (Team selection for the season) -
Required for all teams
- Referee Clinic -
Required for all in-house referees/encouraged for all coaches
- Uniform Pick-up
- Post-season Coaches Party! - All coaches strongly
encouraged to participate
PCA Meetings
All coaches are REQUIRED to attend one of the coaching classes. All parents
are encouraged to attend the parent workshop. The PCA (Positive Coaching
Alliance) is a nation wide organization founded to promote a positive
environment for childern to play sports. It is based on the idea that winning
is important, but not as imporant as learning life leasons (basically being a
good person). Please do everything you can to support BSC's efforts to embrace
the PCA principals.

Coaches Meetings
Required for all coaches (head and
assistant). Information
about the up-coming season will be distributed. Note that we have a number
of field size and number of player changes per recommendations from the IYSA.

Coaches Clinic
This clinic is RECOMMENDED for all in-house coaches. It will be conducted by
professional trainers and will contain suggestions for drills and training for
the teams. It is also an opportunity to ask questions about how to run a
practice and how to improve your team.

Referee Clinic
This
clinic is REQUIRED for all in-house referees. In addition coaches are
encouraged to attend a brush up on the rules of the game.

Uniform Pick-up
Each coach will be REQUIRED
to show the stack of medical release forms for their team before uniforms will
be provided. Here are
instructions on how to print the medical release forms.

Coaches Party
season For the Fall BSC having a post-season coaches party. We believe this will give the coaches an
opportunity to meet each other fater the season, develop some
familiarity, exchange ideas about what worked well (or didn't) in the past season. The party is for head and assistant coaches. Food and
soft drinks are provided by the club, this season's party will be as follows:
